The opening session of the LNG Forum features key decision makers in this rapidly growing energy sector. The high level panel with speakers from Shell Eastern Trading, Total Gas & Power, Trafigura and China International United Petroleum & Chemicals Co., Ltd (UNIPEC) will discuss the changing dynamics of the LNG trade as both new buyers and sellers enter the market resulting in a rise in short-term contracts and spot shipments.

Moderated by leading LNG shipowner, Andreas Sohmen-Pao Chairman of BW Group, the session will offer a unique insight into the future shape of LNG markets.

This expert panel will discuss the state of the LNG shipping market which is improving as delayed liquefaction projects come onstream and could see a sharp upturn in years to come. It will also look at the growing market for floating solutions such as FSRUs as more countries around the world seek cost-effective infrastructure to import LNG. The panel will also examine the complexities of putting together projects involving power companies, governments as well as energy companies and shipowners.

An expert panel representing a broad spectrum of the LNG bunkering supply chain chaired by Andrew Tan, Chief Executive of the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore, which regulates the world’s largest bunkering port. The panel will discuss a wide range of issues including their experience in LNG bunkering, the development of supply infrastructure, technical and regulatory challenges and where small-scale LNG fits into the business landscape.
