Inaugural Sea Asia Smashes Expectations
Singapore, Tuesday April 3, 2007

With a full day of business remaining tomorrow (Weds April 4), the Sea Asia conference and exhibition has beaten all the attendance forecasts.

Co-organisers Seatrade and the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) announced tonight that attendees at Suntec City Singapore, by mid-afternoon (4pm) on the second day of Sea Asia, had topped the 5,000 mark, 1,000 more than the original estimate.

These figures include more than 1,000 delegates to the conference sessions, which have been universally hailed for their extremely high standard of content and debate.

Participants say that one of the strongest features of the inaugural Sea Asia has been its quality and number of satellite events, social gatherings and announcements.

These have combined to produce a buzz around the show which emphasizes how Asia’s maritime communities have embraced the idea of a regular pan-regional gathering with Singapore as its home.
